June D. Ameen is a dynamic and visionary leader with a drive to use skills and experience from an executive level career spanning the healthcare and pharmaceutical/biotechnology research and development industries to make a meaningful impact on the child welfare system. June recently transitioned from the private sector, fueled by a life-long passion to impact the lives of children involved in the child welfare system. Over the past 8 years June has volunteered as foster care case reviewer with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, as big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & The Islands, and on a special project for the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children in Boston.
June volunteered with Friends of Children (FOC) beginning in 2014 with the creation of The Children’s Union, FOC’s policy arm, with an initial focus to improve the public foster care system in Massachusetts. June began consulting with FOC in 2016 as Director of Strategic Advocacy and is currently focused on implementing The Children’s Union plan related to improving the foster care review process in Massachusetts.
June holds a professional degree in Nursing and a Master’s of Business Administration.
