Friends of Children is honored to receive the 2021 Angel in Adoption Award of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. The award, for which FOC was nominated by Senator Edward Markey (D-MA), recognizes the organization’s more than 31 years of work on behalf of children impacted by the foster care system.

Founded in 2001, the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to raising awareness about the millions of children around the world in need of safe and nurturing families, and to eliminating the barriers that hinder these children from realizing their basic right to a family. The creation of CCAI sought to match the commitment of  Congress’s Adoption Caucus, the Congressional Coalition on Adoption, with the information and resources needed to make the dream of a family a reality for every child.

Thank you to Senator Edward Markey and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute for recognizing our hard work and dedication for children and young adults impacted by foster care or juvenile-justice involvement. We are so honored to be a 2021 Angels in Adoption Honoree.
