One of the many ways we work to level the playing fields for children in and aging out of the foster care system is our Backpack Campaign.
Each year we provide backpacks for children and youth - kindergarten through high school - so that they can start their school year with new items and hope for a new school year. For a child or teen, having a new backpack packed with new supplies rather than hand-me-downs can make them feel a little less "other" as they return to their old school or more probably walk into a new one. So we are reaching out to the community to help us make this happen.
Would you consider making a backpack filled with school supplies for one of our kids? If yes, please sign up today!
You can choose what age level you would like to create a backpack for and you will find a list of the items we need below. We ask that the backpacks themselves be gender neutral (preferably blue, tan, green, or black – we have many pink and red already).
We can pick up the filled backpack or you can drop it off at our office (245 Russell St, Hadley, #14). Let us know what you prefer in the form below.
Backpacks need to be to us by July 20th.
On behalf of all our children, youth and young adults, thank you!!!
