Amherst Area Chamber Golf Tournament is A Hole-In-One for Friends of Children

Community leaders and golf enthusiasts took to the greens at Cold Spring Orchards in Belchertown, MA on July 23 to raise some green for Friends of Children.
Honored to be the nonprofit charity of choice for this year’s event, FOC staff and board members got to know the golfers and share the work of Friends of Children as they took tickets at the putting green. In addition to the direct donations of participating golfers, the winner of the “putt-off,” Ron LaVerdiere, donated his winnings to FOC. The connections made on the course will help keep funding for Friends of Children’s crucial work on course.
As the Amherst Area Chamber so eloquently shared, “We are so proud to have supported the mission of Friends of Children with a check presentation to their Executive Director, Jane Lyons, at our 18th Annual Golf Tournament. They raised over $1,600 through the golf tournament. For nearly thirty years, Friends of the Children has been fully dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults impacted by foster care or juvenile-justice involvement.”
