A Bridge to Boston

After 31 years of advocating from our base in western Massachusetts, Friends of Children is creating a second home for our impactful services and advocacy in Greater Boston!

We’ll expand our unique and effective work to address the serious unmet needs of young people aging out of the foster care system without permanent community or family support.  Our FOCUS Program provides a safety net, helps build social capital, develop critical skills so they can launch successful, independent adult lives, and create relational permanency with long term mentors.

In Greater Boston, we’ll also expand our Foster Dignity Program, which respects children, youth, and young adults by meeting their material needs when no other resources are made available.

Through Seeing Our Voices, young people impacted by the foster-care system in Greater Boston will be able to express their experiences creatively through the arts.

Having secured a shared working space with another like-minded organization, Friends of Children is poised to make further impact on the lives of children and young adults needing the support and truth-action-change advocacy that Friends of Children provides.
