Friends of Children sent out the following letter to our snail mail and email list on Friday. Will you consider making your gift before the end of the fiscal year on June 30th?
That’s the time it took Friends of Children to get 12-year-old Jose to his own “forever family.” Before we stepped in to advocate for him, Jose had been stuck in limbo for five years. Without your help, Jose still would not be home.
As we approach the end of another busy, successful year, we are appealing to you to support other children like Jose through a gift to Friends of Children before June 30th.
During the past fiscal year, Friends of Children:
- Served 71 abused and neglected children through our CASA Program;
- Delivered critical supplies, clothing and funds to 489 vulnerable foster children through our Foster Dignity Project;
- Gained the respect and attention of policy makers through the research and recommendations of our Children’s Union Advocacy Group;
- Spearheaded the formation of a statewide conference on the critical intersection of parental addiction and child welfare.
And our calendar for next fiscal year, beginning in only a few weeks on July 1st, is already full!
So much work lies ahead if we are to protect and support the most vulnerable children living here in Hampshire and Franklin counties. Your gift will enable Friends of Children to keep advocating for at-risk kids in the foster care system, and to offer aid, education, and programming that will make all the difference in their lives.
Every day – and every child – counts. Please, make your donation before June 30th, so our urgently needed work can go on as seamlessly and vigorously as ever. You may send your gift in the enclosed reply envelope, or donate at http://www.friendsofchildreninc.org.
Right now, Friends of Children is working to make sure that hundreds of children and youth who are “stuck” in crisis can finally look forward to the security and happiness they deserve. Can we count on you once again, so children like Jose can claim their places in our community…today and in the future?
As always, my most sincere thanks,
Jane Lyons, Executive Director
P.S. – Please, won’t you make your generous gift today, before our fiscal year ends on June 30?
